“Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories will strengthen free education” – President

(Colombo, Lankapuvath) – Addressing the opening ceremonies of seven more Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories in Uva Province, President Mahinda Rajapaksa states that the construction of Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories in the schools island wide is a new step taken forward to strengthen free education. This will help our children to win the challenges not only in the country, but also throughout the world.

The aim of the Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories is to strengthen education sector by increasing the Information technology (IT) literacy among Sri Lankan students. In addition to the Mahindodaya Laboratories, 1,000 more laboratories will be setup in 1,000 Government schools. 88 Laboratories will be setup in the Uva Province only. Yestreday (14) the President declared open the Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories in Welimada Central College, Guruthalawa Muslim Central College and Boralanda Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Keppetipola Maha Vidyalaya, Medawela Secondary School, Ambagasdiva President’s College and Alagolla Tamil Maha Vidyalaya.

It is reported that the President Mahinda Rajapaksa was warmly welcomed by people and students of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities.
